Sigmatropic was formed in Athens, Greece by Akis Boyatzis in 1997; the band has been well-known around the world with the international release of their latest LP “Sixteen Haiku and Other Stories” (Hitch Hyke/Tongue Master/Thirsty Ear) in all Europe, North America and Oceania. The songs are based on the poetry of Yorgos Seferis. This release hosted a galaxy of renowned guests such as Robert Wyatt, Pinkie Maclure, Cat Power, Carla Torgerson, James Sclavunos, Edith Frost, Howe Gelb, Lee Ranaldo, Laetitia Sadier and more, and received raving reviews in the media all over the world.
Performed live in numerous concerts and festivals in Greece, along with headliners like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Moby, Sonic Youth, Prodigy, Patti Smith, etc.
