Ziggy Was - What hippie? (Rock)

Ziggy Was was a rock band from Greece. They were formed in Thessaloníki in 1992. Their music style is bit hard to define. One could call it a mixture of funk, punk and hardcore. In their first live appearances they were just the opening group, but managed to form a group of dedicated fans. Their line-up at that time was Panos in the guitar and the vocals, Lambros in the bass, and Kostas in the drums.
In 1993 they released their demo Oilland (rather difficult to find now) which was generally applauded. A few months later, they signed for Lazy Dog Records, and in 1994 they released Here. At the same time they also released Take a look at the kids/Oilland 7, sold together with Fractal fanzine (rather difficult to find now, too).
In 1995 they released Two turns to one E.P. All this time Ziggy played in many concerts, most of them in Thessaloníki and Athens. Their last release was not exactly a new LP; it contains Here and Two turns to one, and its title is Three turns to one.
Panos Rossis: guitar, vocals, lyrics
Lambros Saltsidis: bass (once played with Lolama)
Kostas Karkalis: drums (ex-Γκούλαγκ)
Kostas Pantelis: guitar (ex-Πίσσα και Πούπουλα)
