Nikolas Gale - Peter's Night (House)

Nikolas was born in Athens in 1985. He got introduced to music at the age of 12, when he started drums, music theory and jazz harmony lessons @ “Philippos Nakas Conservatory”. At the age of 18, he went on to study “Music Technology and Acoustics” @ the “Technological Educational Institute of Crete”, located in Rethymnon city. He finished his Bachelor’s Degree on 2008 and he decided to move to UK for postgraduate studies. He lived for one year in Cardiff, the hometown of Wales, where he attended an “MSc Advanced Music Production” course @ “Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries”.
After many years of researching and with the use of state-of-the-art musical and technological equipment, Nikolas has found ways that allow him to play with the words “innovation” and “improvisation”. By using various means of manipulating the sound, combined in a creative way for live performances, you can see him creating unique dancing soundscapes. His Thesis for the MSc (“Interactive DJing: A Modular Approach of presenting Electronic Dance Music”), made him do an in depth research in the field of “nu-tech & creative performances”, combining among others, tools like Ableton Live, MaxMSP, JazzMutant’s Lemur and live musical instruments.
At the moment, Nikolas is living in Athens where he designed his project studio (Grandma Studio), and he is dealing with productions, mastering and other music-releated activities. He is also an active editor in Greece’s most successful music-tech magazine, called “Sound Maker” and member of the record labels Push On Music (Switzerland) and Midi Mood Records (Italy).
